Dear Houston Alumni Traveler,
The University of Houston Alumni & Friends Travel Program is excited to announce our first ever alumni whitewater rafting adventure. Join us as we travel to Oregon & Idaho to descend the mighty Snake River in Hells Canyon.
Our river journey combines the beauty and awe of towering canyon walls, learning the unique natural and human history of Hells Canyon, and the thrill of running some of the biggest and best whitewater in the United States. We will spend time uncovering traces of past inhabitants by hiking to ancient pictograph and petroglyph sites, historic cabins and homesteads. We’ll search for canyon wildlife, such as black bear, lynx, osprey and golden eagles. Class III and Class IV rapids highlight our float through the stunning scenery of America's deepest canyon. Evenings allow us time to unwind from the day’s excitement as we enjoy delicious gourmet meals and Idaho’s brilliant night sky amidst our luxurious riverside camps. This adventure is appropriate for anyone seven years and older, and is ideal for beginners and seasoned rafters.
Our travel partner, Northwest Voyageurs, has more than 28 years of experience running the highest quality outdoor adventures. They are available to answer any questions and can be reached at: (800) 727-9977.
