Please note, the below itinerary is meant to provide an overview of the journey. A final itinerary including special events and exclusive visits to wineries shall be provided prior to departure.
Day 1: Please arrive to the meeting spot in San Francisco by 10 a.m. From here we will travel by van across the Golden Gate Bridge and north towards wine country. We’ll begin the first leg of our journey, as we pedal through the rolling ranch lands of rural Sonoma county. At any time clients may choose to hop into our sag wagon. In the late afternoon, we’ll arrive to Occidental, a small village set in the forest above the Russian River. We’ll check into the Inn at Occidental, where we’ll be spending the next 2 nights. Day 2: We’ll rise early this morning and drive to the Tomales Bay on the coast. Mornings are typically best for placid paddling conditions on the Bay. We’ll paddle out with a local naturalist to view a variety of bird and marine life such as osprey, harbor seals, pelicans, bat rays and more. We’ll spend about 3 hours exploring the coastline before paddling back to the hamlet of Marshall. Here we will enjoy a delicious guide-prepared picnic and trade our kayaks in for bikes to begin biking back towards Occidental. After returning to our hotel, we are free to enjoy dinner on our own or in small groups at one of the several restaurants in Occidental. Inn at Occidental, Breakfast, Lunch
Day 3: After breakfast, we ride down the hill down to the Russian River and then ride north towards Healdsburg. After our relaxing morning ride, we’ll all meet at a grove of towering coastal redwoods – the ideal setting for a short hike before enjoying another incredible picnic. After lunch we’ll pedal onward to a winery in the Russian River valley for a wine tasting and tour. We then continue riding at our own pace to Healdsburg, with plenty of time to visit another winery or two along the way. We’ll spend the next two nights at the H2 Hotel in Healdsburg. This modern, eco-friendly hotel is steps away from Healdsburg’s main square, with its many shopping and dining venues. H2 Hotel, Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 4: Today is the day to enjoy a loop ride through the Dry Creek appellation and visit wineries at your leisure. Our guides will provide suggestions for routes of varying length through this stunning part of wine country. You may also choose to shorten your ride today and enjoy a massage or spa treatment in Healdsburg. This evening we are free to enjoy dinner on our own or in small groups at one of Healdsburg’s many fine restaurants. evening to enjoy some fine cuisine and wine to celebrate our adventure. Day 5: After breakfast, we’ll begin our journey from Healdsburg to Sonoma. We’ll bike through many vineyards with a variety of wineries to stop in and visit. Ambitious riders may wish to bike the entire distance while others may choose to ride in the van for part of the trip. We’ll arrive in Sonoma in the late afternoon and check into our hotel for the evening, set in walking distance of Sonoma Plaza. We’ll enjoy a final celebration dinner to enjoy not only the fine cuisine and wine of Sonoma but the taste of newly formed friendships made on our journey. Sonoma Hotel, Breakfast, Dinner
Day 6: : This morning, we’ll have the chance to explore downtown Sonoma or ride one of the routes around town and the local vineyards. After lunch, we’ll meet and pack up our bikes and return to San Francisco. We expect to arrive back to the city by approximately 3-4pm. Breakfast
