Our full-day chukar hunts typically depart at 8:00am from the Little Salmon Lodge. We drive up the Salmon River to our launch site and load up into driftboats - two hunters per guide. We'll cover 15-20 miles of the Salmon River, drifting and listening for the distinctive "chuck" of our chukar. Once we find a covey, we'll beach the boat and start hunting. Chukar hunting typically involves a good deal of hiking on rugged terrain, as chukar run uphill before fleeing through the air. A delicious bagged lunch is included, with deli sandwiches, fresh fruit, chips, homemade cookies and your choice of soda or water. We usually hunt until 4-5pm in the afternoon before taking off the river for the day.
Chukar hunting can be combined with any fishing trip during chukar season (September 15 to January 31) for a Cast & Blast Adventure.
