Day 2: We travel by van and ferry to Curu National Wildlife Refuge on the Pacific Coast and paddle to our private beach camp where we spend the next 3 days enjoying the pure life. The peace of our surroundings is interrupted only by the calls of the howler monkeys who live in the trees above our camp. (B, L, D)

Days 3-4: Each day, we have the option to sea kayak along the coast our out to nearby islands or take hikes inland to view howler monkeys, sloths, white-faced and spider monkeys and a wide range of bird life. We can also choose to relax in camp on the beach and go snorkeling. Often, local fishermen offer to take us out for a short fishing expedition, Costa Rica style. (B, L, D)

Day 5: We'll paddle in the morning to meet our transportation, and return to our hotel in San Jose for the evening. Tonight, we have time to explore San Jose or just relax. Dinner is on our own. (B, L)

After reaching the river and a safety orientation, we begin paddling Class III-IV rapids through the Pacuare's pristine jungle. Our destination is the Jungle Lodge, deep within the rain forest, where we'll spend the next two nights. (B, L, D)

Day 7: We'll hike to waterfalls, natural water slides and have time for wildlife and bird watching. Optional longer day hikes can be taken to a local Indian Village, or you we can enjoy a most relaxing day along the banks of the amazing Pacuare. (B, L, D)

Day 8: We continue down the Pacuare River through more Class III-IV rapids. We're fine tuning our paddling skills for our next day's rafting adventure...our Pacuare float ends in the afternoon and we enjoy dinner & lodging at the beautiful Turrialtico Lodge. (B, L, D)

Day 9: Our adventure activities end with a bang today on the exciting Pasqua Section of the Reventazon River. Continuous Class IV rapids keep our adrenaline flowing throughout the journey.
