Most of the steelhead in the Salmon River are hatchery fish, identified by a clipped adipose fin. Typically (though subject to Fish & Game rule changes), the daily limit for hatchery steelhead is 3 and the possession limit is 9. You can keep up to 9 fish to take home with you if you wish. Native (non-hatchery) steelhead must be released.
