The outdoors has the changed the lives of every one of us working at Northwest Voyageurs. Our passion for adventure spills into everything we do. We view our role as facilitators of extraordinary experiences.

Some people need more creature comforts than others. Our goal is to provide solutions to our guests' concerns and hesitations which allows them to free themselves and simply experience the majesty of the outdoors. We provide you with the opportunity to learn something new about yourself, about our world, and about your friends and family with whom you are traveling.

Here's a quick story. Several years ago, I was guiding a multi-day rafting trip with a family, father, mother, teenage son and younger teenage daughter. According to the parents, the kids fought constantly, and their first day on our trip was evidence on this. On Day 2, with each teenager in their own one-man inflatable kayak, the daughter flipped the kayak in a Class II rapid. She panicked and was very scared. (Editor's Note - As guides, we knew she was not in danger, but an unintentional swim in any rapid can be scary for anyone.) Her brother raced over to her in his kayak, plucked her out of the river, and rescued her. Instantly, he was her hero. The rest of the trip, much to the astonishment and glee of their parents, the kids did not fight once and actually chose to spend time with each other in a 2-person kayak.

The moral of the story is that choosing to embark on an outdoor adventure opens us to all sorts of positive life-changing experiences. We don't sell or offer that experience in our trips - we don't claim responsibility for these siblings' new found friendship. Our goal is to provide a safe, fun and comfortable environment with inspiring trip leaders that facilitates you finding your own life-changing experience on the trip.
